NADARS TEMPLE ENTRY CAMPAIGN - II
1936; For the Nadars of Kanyakumari then under Travancore ruling, the Temple entry was facilitated through proclamation by the Maharaja of Travancore backed up by legislation for temple entry and removal of social disabilities
Staring 1937, Movement for Temple entry to the lower caste people including Nadars struggle gained support in Maduarai with the support of Congress,
1939, JULY 8, a few Dalits and some prominent Nadar community representatives entered the Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple lead by Vaidyanatha Iyer and were given prasadam and honours due to any devotee. Nadars obtained respectful entry to a temple in South Tamilnadu.
The people entered the temple included S.S.ShanmugaKani Nadar (municipal councillor of Virudhupatti,), K.Kamaraj Nadar, P.Sathyamurthy,P.Kakkan and various other representatives of depressed communities.
1939: August: The Temple entry Authorisation and Indemnity Act was passed in August 1939 in Madras Presidency. After this stalwarts of Nadar community also started representing the the important positions such as Arangavalar role in various temples of Taminlnadu. Soon after Temple Entry Act the Cognress Stalwart A.S.S.S.Sangarapandia Nadar was appointd in the board of Ramanathapuram Jillah Hindu Temples Committee
