Centenary celebration Hindu Nadars Edward schools Sattur
The two-day centenary celebrations of Sattur Hindu Nadars Edward Higher Secondary and Middle schools was held on 28 and 29 August 2010.
District Revenue Officer B. Ganesan, Chief Educational Officer Pandi, and headmaster G. MuthusingamMinister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, industrialist P.A.C.R. Ramasubramania Raja, A. Vairaprakasam and P. Mahendravel, Virudhunagar MP B. Manicka Tagore, school alumnus and Collector of Coimbatore district P. Umanath participated. MACS. Rajendran, chairman of Centenary celebration committee laid the foundation stone for a three-storeyed building for 12 classrooms.
Mr. Ramasubramania Raja, released the centenary souvenir which was received by industrialist S. Ashok. T. S. Jeyachandran, president of the management committee delivered a report about the development of the schools during the 100 years.
Realizing the importance of Education for alleviating the sufferings of the poor underprivileged people in and around Sattur, the great Philanthropists of that time Sri. A.M.M. Velayutha Nadar and K.C.A. Arunachala Nadar took efforts to start an Elementary School in the name of Sattur Hindu Nadars Edward Elementary School on 15th January, 1910. To manage the newly born school, Sattur Hindu Nadars Edward School Managing Committee was formed and it was registered under companies Act on 28th July 1919.Many illustrious Secretaries such as A.M.M. Velayutha Nadar, K.C.A. Arunachala Nadar, V.M.V.K. Rajamani Nadar, K.C.A.D. Chidhambara Nadar, A.S.Thangavel Nadar, A.V.A.K.A. Shenbagaraja Nadar, V.C.A. Jeyapaul, M.A.C. Muthumanicka Nadar etc effectively and efficiently managed the schools
