A.Y.S. Parisutha Nadar, Thanjavur
Mr.G.K.Vasan unveiled the bust size statue of A. Y. S. Parisutham Nadar at the Parisutham Institute of Technology and Science as part of centenary celebrations of the former MLA and philanthropist.
Parisutha Nadar was a multi faceted personality, and was three times MLA representing Thanjavur. He was the Thanjavur town president of the Congress for 21 years. He was the chairman of Thanjavur Municipality. Nadar’s family donated land for establishing the Thanjavur Medical College, Rajah Serfoji Government College in those days. Land was given by them for Guild of Service and Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). It was he who implemented the Thirumanur drinking water scheme for Thanjavur Municipality. Parisutha Nadar was a follower of Kamarajar.
S. P. Selvaraj, Managing Director of Hotel Gnanam and son of Parisutha Nadar, S. P. Anthonisamy, Chairman of Parisutham Institute of Technology and Science, another son of Parisutha Nadar, carry on the legacy of Parisutha nadar philanthropy.
The Trust - AYS Parisutha Nadar Centenary Foundation
The Gnanam School of Business is a unit of the AYS Parisutha Nadar Centenary Foundation, a Public Charities Trust, established on 27.08.2007 which was started with the noble idea of carrying on with the philanthropic activities of the family as espoused by the late AYS Parisutha Nadar himself.
The Trust has been promoted by three trustees including Sri S.P.Selvaraj , Smt. Francisca Selvaraj and Sri. S.P.S. Aruldoss.
